The exclusive event brought together clients and logistics trade professionals to present the investments, differentiators, and the strategic plan that will guide the terminal towards achieving its vision: “To be the largest and most efficient port terminal in South America.”
According to Porto Itapoá’s Business Development and Customer Experience Director, Felipe Fioravanti Kaufmann, the event was an important moment to strengthen partnerships with the logistics and foreign trade sectors of Santa Catarina. “It’s an economic segment that plays a crucial role in the country’s growth and development. We thank everyone who participated and contributed to the success of Itapoá Day,” he said.
During his presentation, Kaufmann outlined Porto Itapoá’s investment plans: “We are committed to continuing to invest in the sustainable growth of Porto Itapoá, always aligned with the market’s growing demand, once we are the only Terminal in Brazil with great expansion capacity. In the next 12 months, we will allocate R$ 500 million for improvements,” he revealed.
In addition to 120,000 square meters of new yard space, which will be inaugurated by mid-next year, the investment includes new equipment: the eighth portainer, nine terminal tractors (TT), four empty container handlers (EV), 12 rail-mounted gantry cranes (RTG), a new security scanner, and 1,080 new reefer plugs.
“We believe that this effort will enable us to sustain our growth in the short and medium term. Our expectation is to triple the volume of movements by 2040. Additionally, the new expansion phase, scheduled for 2nd semester of 2025 , will be another milestone in Porto Itapoá’s ongoing development,” the terminal director assessed.
