2024 Cultural Night delights Itapoá with Music and Dance
Since 2015, with a total investment of R$ 16,798,761.51, Porto Itapoá has supported 99 projects in areas such as Culture, Sports, Children, the Elderly, Oncology Health Care, and Health Care for People with Disabilities.
On December 20th and 21st, 2024, Itapoá hosted another edition of Cultural Night, one of the region’s most anticipated events. Organized by Porto Itapoá in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the 8th edition of the event promised unforgettable moments of music, dance, and culture for the entire community. With free admission, the event featured outstanding performances by local artists and was exclusively sponsored by Porto Itapoá, reaffirming its commitment to the city’s cultural development.
A Diverse and High-Quality Program
This year’s program featured performances that blended tradition and innovation. On December 20th, the evening opened with the Musicarium String Camerata, which performed works by renowned composers such as Gustav Holst, Heitor Villa-Lobos, and Tchaikovsky. Founded in Joinville, Musicarium is one of Brazil’s leading orchestral training centers, and its young talents have performed internationally.
Next, the spotlight turned to Sua Majestade o Violão Orchestra, which has delighted audiences since 2018 with a repertoire combining popular and classical music. This year’s performance featured special guest Rafaela Antonioli, whose voice remains a cherished presence in the audience’s memory.
The evening continued with the Batuque na Cozinha percussion project, which paid tribute to Itapoá through its original song Itapoá – Uma Criança Brincar. Wrapping up the first night, the Vozes da Babitonga and Sementes do Amanhã choirs presented the musical Natal Brasileiro, celebrating Brazilian culture with rhythms such as baião, forró, and samba.
An Unforgettable Second Day of Performances
On December 21st, the Prelúdio Orchestra thrilled the audience with rock classics like “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Guns N’ Roses and “Love of My Life” by Queen. Founded in 2011, Prelúdio Orchestra is a benchmark in instrumental music in Santa Catarina and has performed for over 50,000 people.
Following this, the CIA JK Ballet presented the celebrated Polovtsian Dances from the opera Prince Igor by Alexander Borodin. Choreographed by Jasson Kerkhoven, the performance transported the audience to an exotic and captivating world.
During transitions and as the grand finale, the Encantada Band brought contagious energy, interacting with the audience and creating moments of pure fun. Founded in 2022 in Joinville, the band has stood out for its vibrant energy and performances that delight both children and adults.
Culture and Social Transformation
The Cultural Night celebrated, in its eighth edition, the richness and diversity of artistic and social expressions supported over the years. These contributions via Tax Incentive Laws have been made by the Terminal since 2015 and already total R$23.5 million and more than 130 sponsored programs and projects in the areas of Culture, Sports, Children, the Elderly, Oncological Health Care and Health Care for People with Disabilities. In 2023, it stood out as the 8th largest investor in culture in Santa Catarina, and in 2024 it ranks 5th, with investments totaling more than R$10.7 million reais, allocated to 51 projects that benefit the community of Itapoá and the region. Nationally, it is among the 100 largest investors in culture, occupying the 91st position.
