BMW Group executives visit Porto Itapoá
Porto Itapoá is joining in, reducing its environmental footprint and holding events for the community
This service connects Latin America with some of the most important ports in Asia, such as Busan (South Korea), Shanghai (China), Singapore, Jakarta (Indonesia) and Kattupalli (India). The first ship to dock at Itapoá will be the MV. Hyundai Shanghai ETA IOA, which is due to arrive on July 8th.
Porto Itapoá is now served by the FIL service from HMM
This important service now serves Porto Itapoá and connects it to some of the main ports in Asia. Sergni Pessoa Rosa Jr., the Director of Operations, Technology and the Environment at Porto Itapoá, and Wlademir Cardoso Xavier, a commercial expert, were in Busan, in South Korea, for a meeting with the HMM (Hyundai Merchant Marine) Group.
At the meeting, the South Korean shipping company’s representatives announced that the FIL (Far East – India – Latin America) service would be making weekly stops at Itapoá. “This is a relatively new service from HMM that is of great interest to commercial trade with Asia. It is a further option for those of our customers who need to arrange shipments with countries on that continent,” stated Rosa Jr.

The FIL service was announced by HMM in October 2021 and began operating in December that year. It experienced some changes due to the pandemic, but is now back to its original configuration.
The executives from Porto Itapoá were met by the HMM team: the Deputy General Manager of the Network Planning Team, W J Kim; the Senior Manager of the Global Procurement and Terminal Operations Team, Seung Ki Chang; the Senior Manager of the Emerging Commerce Management Team, S C Lee; the Senior Manager in charge of the Global Procurement and Terminal Operations Team Y D Yun; the Manager from the Emerging Commerce Management Team, In Kuk Kim; the Manager from the Emerging Commerce Management Team, Hyo Yeon Kim.
