Porto Itapoá records an hourly movement record
On May 22, Porto Itapoá registered its new MPH record (Movements per hour), with 172.26 movements carried out in one hour by the Terminal, on the 272-meter long Monte Pascoal ship, from the shipowner Hamburg Sud. the last record recorded was in March last year, on the Maersk Laberinto ship, with 170.77 movements per hour.
The terminal has in its essence the development of operations valuing agility and efficiency, an objective that has elevated Porto Itapoá to the first positions in the ranking among the largest Brazilian terminals. The Terminal closed 2019 in the first position among the container handling ports in the State of Santa Catarina. In Brazil, Porto Itapoá occupied the third position in the last year and this year, it registered in the first quarter the mark of 90,656 units of containers handled, being in the second position among the Brazilian terminals with greater handling in units of full containers.
