Porto para Todos Program: Strengthening the Culture of Inclusion at Porto Itapoá
Porto Itapoá celebrates a milestone in inclusion and social development with the success of the Porto para Todos Program. The initiative, which trained 20 people with disabilities over six months, was designed to prepare them for the job market, offering real opportunities for professional growth and inclusion.
The project, titled Inclusion, Acceleration, and Training of People with Disabilities, was based on the Supported Employment method, which combines theoretical and practical training in the corporate environment, according to Ilcilene Floriani de Oliveira Paes, Manager of People Development and Social Responsibility at Porto Itapoá. “This model respects the characteristics and professional interests of the participants, aligning them with the company’s demands,” she explains.
The results of the program were transformative: 19 out of the 20 participants were hired by Porto Itapoá and are now actively contributing to the terminal’s operations. “We are very proud of the results achieved with the Porto para Todos Program. This is more than an inclusion project; it is a commitment to diversity and to valuing the potential of each individual. Seeing these professionals integrated into the job market, transforming their lives and those of their families, is proof that initiatives like this are essential to building a fairer and more equal society,” says Paes.
Transformation and Engagement
In addition to directly benefiting the participants, the program also had a significant impact on Porto Itapoá’s organizational culture. The integration of the new employees strengthened internal team engagement and reinforced the company’s values of inclusion and respect.
Daniel Posseti da Silva, an administrative assistant at Porto Itapoá, was one of the participants in the initiative and praised the learning acquired during the six months. “This project was born with the goal of breaking old paradigms and is now part of a story that, I believe, will endure for generations of Terminal employees,” he said.
The group had godmothers and godfathers who facilitated learning through their experience. Marília Dal Ponte, a monitoring assistant at Porto Itapoá, was one of them. “It is a very interesting opportunity to exchange experiences and strengthen this culture of inclusion within the company, which we certainly carry into our personal lives as well,” she said.
