Evergreen executives visit Porto Itapoá
On October 5th, Porto Itapoá was visited by representatives from Evergreen, one of the largest shipowners in the world. The general manager of Evergreen Brasil, Steven Yu, as well as the company’s Operations supervisor, Luiz Pelusi Neto, the Branch manager – Agencia de Vapores Grieg (general agents of Evergreen in Brazil), Jean Fam Filho, and the person in charge of Operations – Agência de Vapores, Rodrigo de Souza, were welcomed by Porto Itapoá President Cássio Schreiner.
The executives visited the Terminal’s facilities and learned about our future plans, aiming at evaluating new services for Itapoá Among other topics, they learned about the improvement plan for the Babitonga Bay access channel, which will allow larger ships to enter the waterway. The work on the access channel has already been dully licensed by Ibama and is expected to have an installation license soon.
New services
In September, Porto Itapoá began offering another important service for its customers. LUX was opened by ONE (Ocean Network Express) and Cosco Shipping in July 2023. With weekly calls, the service connects Europe and the Mediterranean to the east coast of South America.
Important ports are part of the route, such as Rotterdam, in the Netherlands, Hamburg, in Germany, Antwerp, in Belgium, among others. For the director of Operations, Technology and Environment at Porto Itapoá, Sergni Pessoa Rosa Jr., LUX is an interesting option for both importers and exporters.
LUX rotation:
Rotterdam – London Gateway – Hamburg – Antwerp – Lisbon – Algeciras – Santos – Paranaguá – Montevideo – Buenos Aires – Itapoá – Paranaguá – Santos – Rio de Janeiro – Algeciras – Rotterdam.
Double Call on the ASAS service
The ASAS service of shipowner Maersk – Hamburg Süd makes a Double Call in Itapoá, thus offering direct export outlets to the main ports in Asia. The service already guarantees the best transit time in the import of the Asia line between the ports of the Southern cluster.

Busan – Shanghai – Ningbo – Hong Kong – Singapore – Santos – Itapoá – Itajaí – Buenos Aires – Montevideo – Itapoá – Paranaguá – Santos – Singapore – Hong Kong.
