For the second time, Porto Itapoá is among the 50 most innovative companies in Southern Brazil

Terminal is once again the only port to appear in Revista Amanhã’s innovation ranking in partnership with the IXL-Center/GIMI institutes, from Cambridge/USA

Porto Itapoá is once again among the 50 Most Innovative Companies in Southern Brazil, and is, one more time, the only port to feature in the traditional ranking of Revista Amanhã. Carried out in partnership with the IXL-Center/GIMI institutes, from Cambridge/USA, the selection was based on the methodologies that companies adopt, from the generation of ideas to the development of services and products. For the director of Operations, Environment and Technology of Porto Itapoá, Sergni Pessoa Rosa Junior, innovation is a concept that has been deepened within the Terminal in recent years: “We see innovation with a constant search for better results, looking at our processes and infrastructure in an analytical and very objective way”, the Strategy and Innovation supervisor, Rafael Frederico Pereira, adds the following: “It is a topic of great value to Porto Itapoá, which is why the company has a specific sector for this mission”, he explains.

The award ceremony for the 18th edition of Champions of Innovation took place on the morning of Monday, May 23rd, along with the Webinar “Greenovate: Innovation in the age of sustainability”. The event was broadcast live on Grupo AMANHÃ’s YouTube channel with an opening by Hitendra Patel, CEO and global leader of IXL-Center. The Champions of Innovation survey, conducted by the magazine, adopts the Innovation Management Index, a tool from the methodology of the Global Innovation Management Institute (Gimi) applied by IXL-Center, Cambridge, in the metropolitan area of Boston (USA). Gimi is a global non-profit organization created by a team of executives, academics and consultants specializing in innovation. The group helps individuals, companies and regions to develop world-class innovation management skills through global standards, metrics, certifications and testing protocols.

Porto Itapoá integrates an innovation ecosystem
As one of the Most Innovative Companies in the South of the Country, Porto Itapoá adds differentials in terms of efficiency, modernity and technology in operations and services. One of the ways to contribute to these improvements is to be part of an innovation ecosystem such as the LinkLab of ACATE (Associação Catarinense de Tecnologia), which connects large companies (corporate ones), such as Porto Itapoá, with technology startups to solve business challenges and operations collaboratively. “Working in the open innovation ecosystem allows Porto Itapoá to strengthen the Culture of Innovation, learn about trends and new technologies, promote interaction with startups for other team members and managers, as well as collaboratively develop solutions for Porto’s corporate challenges”, says Frederico Pereira, Strategy and Innovation Supervisor.
In order to strengthen this innovation ecosystem, Porto Itapoá participates in and sponsors the next entrepreneurship and networking events that will be held in the city of Joinville:
• The Startup Weekend, which takes place from May 27th to the 29th, at Ágora Tech Park/Perini Business Park, is an event organized by the Techstars startup community.
• JEDI: Jornada de Empreendedorismo, Desenvolvimento e Inovação (Entrepreneurship, Development and Innovation Journey), from June 4th to the 25th, is an event held by Joinvalle.
