Porto Itapoá sets successive records in crossdocking
Porto Itapoá set four consecutive records in the second half of 2020 in the execution of crossdocking operations, culminating in December with the historic milestone of 1,095 operations for the handling of goods (containers). With this outstanding performance in the second half, even with a drop at the beginning of the year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Porto Itapoá ended 2020 with approximately 9,000 containers handled under this type of service.
In Porto Itapoá’s crossdocking, the goods are removed from the customer’s containers, operated in the Terminal’s warehouse, and then loaded onto trucks. It is a service that has been increasingly demanded by the market as few companies have the expertise and specialized infrastructure to carry it out.
This type of demand is growing every year and an effort by the Terminal added to the agile and safe infrastructure offered to the customer contributes significantly to this increase in volume.
