Ampliar Program receives ESG Port Award as the best social project for private terminals
Porto Itapoá received the ESG Port Award for the best social project developed in the private port sector. The award-winning initiative, the Ampliar program promotes community leadership, that is invited to manage the evaluation, selection and execution process of community projects, which are financed by the Terminal.
The ESG Port Award evaluates organizations and professionals in the port sector throughout Brazil and is organized by the Federal University of Maranhão (UFMA), through the LabPortos Research Group.
The award was handed over by UFMA professor Sérgio Cutrim to the program’s mentor Patrícia Dall’Onder Diez, Social Responsibility specialist at Porto Itapoá, and Taís Marina da Rosa Bolino – the company’s Social Responsibility analyst, at the award ceremony. award, which took place during the VI Port Management Symposium in São Luiz, Maranhão.
“It is an important recognition of the work done during these years, not only for Porto Itapoá, but also for the community, which embraced the program and has developed important solutions for its own challenges”, commented Patrícia Dall’Onder Diez.
The program
The Ampliar program is in its eighth year, operating in the communities of Pontal, Figueira and Jaguaruna, in Itapoá, Santa Catarina.
The specialist in Social Responsibility at the Porto Itapoá Terminal celebrates the success of the program. “It is an initiative built by the participants, from defining the rules of the public notice, such as the evaluation committees and approval bodies to the construction of the projects themselves”, he emphasizes.
